2. Configuration - FreeDB/Database Options
One preliminary configuration step needs to be made:
- Hit F12 or click "freedb/Database Options" in the EAC menu.
FreeDB is a database with CD information. It relies on user contributions - all the CD information that you get from freedb is there because some other user sent it to the database. You can contribute, too, if you find that a CD you rip is not yet in the database, or if you want to provide correct information for a certain CD. You find that option by clicking "Submit CD Information To freedb" in the Database menu.
- Type an e-mail address into the box. It does not have to be valid, but don't just use the default one.
- Click "Get active freedb servers", and then select any one of them.
If you have problems accessing freedb later on, repeat this step.
You may also want to check "On a connection error, retry query using a different server from the server list".
